Terms and Services Agreement for Marissa's Dog Grooming, LLC
This Terms and Services Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Marissa's Dog Grooming, LLC, hereinafter referred to as "Salon," and the pet owner, hereinafter referred to as "Client," for the provision of dog grooming services. By engaging our services, the Client agrees to abide by the following terms and conditions:
1. Services Provided:
The Salon agrees to provide professional dog grooming services as requested by the Client, which may include but are not limited to bathing, brushing, hair trimming, nail clipping, hair coloring, and ear cleaning.
2. Appointment Scheduling:
Appointments are scheduled in advance and are subject to availability.
Clients are encouraged to arrive on time for their appointments. Late arrivals may result in a shortened grooming session, late arrival fee, or rescheduling.
3. Late Pickup Fees:
Clients are expected to pick up their pets promptly at the agreed-upon time.
A late pickup fee may be charged for pick up beyond the scheduled pickup time.
4. Matted Dogs:
Pets with matted coats will require extra attention. If the matting is minimal and the pet responds well, the Salon may brush them out for an extra fee. If the Salon does not believe mats can be brushed out in a humane manner, the Salon will not continue and will clip short/shave the fur. Additional charges may apply for dogs with severely matted fur. The fee will be assessed based on the severity of matting and the additional time required for grooming.
The Salon firmly believes grooming should be an enjoyable experience for the Client's pet, and will not put them through the discomfort of unnecessary de-matting. The Salon will notify you before shaving your dog, if permission to shave down is denied, Client's pet will not get a bath or haircut and must be picked up as is.
There is a greater risk of nicks, scratches, cuts, etc to a matted dog during the grooming process. In addition, the skin may appear red, itchy, bruised, or irritated due to the lack of oxygen reaching the skin underneath the mats.
The Salon will not be held responsible for any injury sustained while grooming a matted dog, including after effects. The Salon will be happy to demonstrate effective brushing techniques to prevent matting. Regular brushing at home with both brush and comb, and frequent grooming, will help to prevent matting.
5. Health and Vaccination Requirements:
All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and parvovirus, as required by local regulations.
All dogs must be current on Flea/Tick prevention.
Clients must disclose any health issues or behavioral concerns regarding their pets prior to grooming.
6. Senior Dogs and Health Conditions
Grooming can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior dogs or dogs with health problems. Because of this, grooming can expose hidden medical problems, as well as aggravate a current one. Due to the higher risk of injury for senior dogs and dogs with health problems, these dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort. The Salon will not compromise any dog's health and/or wellbeing to achieve "the perfect looking groom". The Salon will not be held responsible for accident or injury to an elderly or health-compromised pet during their grooming.
7. Aggressive Dogs:
The Salon reserves the right to refuse service to aggressive dogs for the safety of the dog, staff and other pets. The Salon may deem it necessary to stop service mid groom due to safety. In such cases, the Client will be notified immediately, and must pick up their pet promptly as-is. Service fees may still be applied.
In some cases, a muzzle may be used to protect both the pet and the groomer. The Salon does not muzzle pets unless given reason.
Prior to grooming, the Client must inform the Salon if their pet bites, has bitten, is aggressive, or has any other behavioral issues. If the Client fails to notify the salon of any potential danger or behavioral issue, the Cleint will be held responsible for all medical fees, loss of income, and property damage. The Salon will make every attempt to groom uncooperative pets, however the safety of the pet and groomer is priority.
8. Fleas/Ticks
The Salon does not provide services to dogs with fleas. If fleas are found on a dog, the Client will be responsible to pick up their dog immediately. There will be a service fee with a minimum of $100, which covers the cost of time and materials to sanitize and clean the salon, ensuring no fleas or flea eggs are present, and loss of income due to the need to cancel all other appointments for the rest of the day.
If Ticks are found, the salon will remove them for no extra charge and the owner will be notified. If more than 5 ticks are present, the Salon may refuse service, due to potential injury to the dog, as this can cause anemia and other health conditions.
9. Cancellation Policy:
Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
Failure to provide timely notice may result in a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the grooming service cost.
10. Payment Terms:
Payment is due in full at the time of service.
The salon accepts cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of electronic payment.
11. Liability:
While every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of pets during grooming, the Salon shall not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or illnesses that may occur.
Although accidents are rare, there is a risk when dealing with pets. Although the Salon will use extreme caution and care, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. Any incident will be communicated to the Client.
If a dog is severely hurt or becomes ill, the Salon will obtain immediate medical care from a veterinarian of choice, should the dog's regular veterinarian be unavailable or an unreasonable distance from the Salon. The Client will be responsible for all costs for medical treatment, unless illness or injury is a direct result of negligence by the Salon.
Any veterinary bills resulting from matting, pre-existing or unforeseeable health conditions, aggression, or a difficult temperament, will be the sole responsibility of the Client. In the event an accident does occur, the Client will be notified as soon as possible.
12. Right to Refuse Service:
The Salon has the right to refuse service for any reason it deems. Grooming services may be stopped mid groom if necessary for the safety of the pet or groomer. Grooming fees may still be applied.
13. Client Consent:
The Salon may take pictures of the Client's pet, for marketing, advertising, and education.
By engaging our services, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this Agreement.
14. Amendments:
The Salon reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The Client will be notified of any changes.
